Georgia plans we compare
What’s different about health insurance in Georgia.
Every state runs its individual market a little differently. These are the rules that matter most if you buy your own coverage here.
Read the Georgia FAQ- Georgia runs its own exchange, Georgia Access, and you can enroll through a licensed agent or approved broker sites as well as georgiaaccess.gov.
- Open enrollment for 2027 coverage runs November 1, 2026 to January 15, 2027, with no early window-shopping period this year.
- Enhanced federal subsidies ended after 2025, so help again stops at 400% of the poverty level and 2026 costs rose for many enrollees.
- Georgia did not fully expand Medicaid. Pathways to Coverage covers low-income adults only if they report 80 hours a month of work or other activity.
- Cigna and UnitedHealthcare leave Georgia Access after 2026, so their members must pick a new plan for 2027.
- If you are 60 or older when your COBRA starts, Georgia law may let you keep that group coverage until Medicare.
However you got here, there’s a better plan than the first one you were offered.

Open enrollment on Georgia Access runs from November 1, 2026 to January 15, 2027. Georgia is not offering an early window-shopping period this year, so 2027 prices appear when enrollment opens. Outside that window you need a qualifying life event, such as losing other coverage.
No. Since the 2025 plan year, Georgia has used its own exchange, Georgia Access. You can enroll at georgiaaccess.gov, through a Georgia-certified agent, or through an approved enhanced direct enrollment partner, and federal subsidies are only available through these routes.
Not fully. Georgia Pathways to Coverage covers adults 19 to 64 with income up to the poverty level, but only if they report at least 80 hours a month of work, school, training, volunteering or similar activity. Pathways rules change on January 1, 2027.
