Arizona plans we compare
What’s different about health insurance in Arizona.
Every state runs its individual market a little differently. These are the rules that matter most if you buy your own coverage here.
Read the Arizona FAQ- Arizona uses the federal Marketplace. Open enrollment for 2027 runs November 1, 2026 to January 15, 2027, and you must choose by December 15 for a January 1 start.
- The extra federal premium help ended after 2025. If your household income is above 400% of the federal poverty level, you get no premium tax credit in 2026.
- Seven insurers sell Marketplace plans in 2026, but Cigna leaves at the end of 2026 and Aetna left at the end of 2025.
- Insurers have asked for 2027 increases of roughly 25% to 34%, except Antidote at about 3%. Final 2027 rates come out before open enrollment.
- AHCCCS covers adults up to about 138% of the poverty level. New work and six-month renewal rules start January 1, 2027.
- Small employers under 20 workers must offer up to 18 months of state continuation coverage, and short-term plans can last up to 36 months here.
However you got here, there’s a better plan than the first one you were offered.
